Bone Markers are 2mm gold spheres, typically used in cranial and spinal cases. Their spherical design is easily recognized from any imaging angle making it easy for auto marker detection algorithms to locate them. Bone markers are typically placed in an outpatient setting, under local anesthetic, in a 20 minute procedure. A surgical tool kit assists in the process of implanting bone markers. The kit includes a gold marker placement tool, a 2mm drill guide and two 2mm drill bits.
